Lakos SMP-20 Stainless Steel one inch Sand Separator. A Lakos Sand Separator uses the centrifugal action of spinning the water to force particulates outward and then down into a holding chamber.

This an excellent product and when installed correctly, does an amazing job with sand and other particulate removal, while eliminating need to change or clean filter screens or cartridges. The one inch version is designed to separate sand in situations calling for a water flow of 19-32 gallons per minute and would be appropriate for wells with fairly high flow rates. The one inch model would not be appropriate for most household applications.
